Interesting Facts About Posey...
Posey and her sister Rosie were born on October 19, 2021, here at Hot Cross Buns.
Their parents were Primrose and Little Boy Blue.
When the kits were four weeks old, their mother Primrose suddenly passed away, leaving us to hand-raise her babies. As a result, they are especially sweet and love to be cuddled.
I used to call Primrose "Prim-Rosie-Posey", which is how her daughters received their names.
Posey is a solid chinchilla doe.
She has always had very small litters of only one or two kits and seems to be prone to having peanut babies.
She is a very fluffy girl, with a thick coat that needs careful grooming when she goes through a molt.
Posey is a very tender mama to her babies.
We need to shave the fur on her tummy when she has babies so they can nurse more easily.
We're hoping for one, possibly two, litters before Posey is retired and spayed.
Posey will be staying with us once she is retired. She's a family favorite.
