I took Babette and her little buck, Hot Pocket, to the vet today. The doctor could find nothing visibly wrong or concerning with either of them, but is running some tests. I will be returning tomorrow with the body of the kit that passed away on Sunday (I forgot to bring it today), so they can perform a necropsy on it. Although I hate the idea of that being done, in this case it seems to be the best option to determine why 50% of Babette's kits have died so suddenly.
Amy is the Big Bunny at the Hot Cross Buns Holland Lop Rabbitry. She manages the furry bunnies as well as her own brood of five kits, with the help of her incredibly patient husband of nineteen years. Hot Cross Hoppenings will be a journal of our adventures in Holland Lop life.
