Two Hot Cross Buns went home with their new families over the weekend! Elizabeth was all smiles as she met Eman Dee (the little sable point buck) for the first time. He settled right down in her arms and looked quite content to snuggle with his new friend. His quiet, stable presence will be missed in the bunny nursery, but we are so happy to have met his delightful new family.
Blueberry Muffin's little fuzzy black tort doe went home with Savannah and her dad this weekend. They looked a little surprised by how fuzzy she had become over the past week. Her throwback angora genes were definitely showing! Savannah will be spoiling Princess Cocoa with lots of love and attention. It was great to see them both again. :)
So that was the "Two Down" part of the title. The "Two Up" refers to two new bunnies we brought home almost two weeks ago. I still haven't posted pictures yet, but wanted to tell you a little about them.
Natalie came from B's Hollands, and was bred at Campo's in Washington state. She is a two year old broken opal and is the mother of our Wee Walter. She is busy settling in and will be a sweet, gentle addition to our rabbitry. We have actually been calling her Abby because we have a human friend named Natalie, which makes things a bit confusing. I guess her name is Abigail Natalie, but Abby for short. We are hoping for a litter of buns in early May.
Not quite three month old Tootsie came from Phoenix Hollands and is a lovely clean sable point doe. She has transitioned very well to her Sherwood food and is calm, but curious in demeanor. She likes to binky and frisk around in the bunny room when she "helps" me clean the cages and pens. Quite a sweet little girl.
Amy is the Big Bunny at the Hot Cross Buns Holland Lop Rabbitry. She manages the furry bunnies as well as her own brood of five kits, with the help of her incredibly patient husband of nineteen years. Hot Cross Hoppenings will be a journal of our adventures in Holland Lop life.
